MCA notified the Companies (Indian Accounting Standards) Amendment Rules, 2026, vide Notification G.S.R. 725(E) dated August 12, 2026. The amendments, inter alia, revise Ind AS 101 relating to first-time adoption of Indian Accounting Standards, including clarifications concerning hedge accounting transitions, and amend Ind AS 107 to introduce additional disclosure requirements for contracts dependent on electricity purchases. Ind AS 107 has been expanded to introduce new disclosure requirements cover risks, commitments and performance impacts, including unused electricity purchases, sale of unused electricity and related costs. Companies to which Ind AS applies should assess the impact of these amendments on their accounting and financial statement disclosures.
